Creating a guide for Pwnage!

Post by Orphansoffire » Tue Dec 12, 2017 4:30 pm

Hi guys, my name is Orphan, I've been playing Lotro for a few years now, and have returned for Mordor as it's my favorite area of Middle Earth!
With my return, I wanted to be able to grind areas and do things automatically rather than grinding ash for hours and hours, why not have a wonderful software do it for you! :)
That's what Pwnage is for!
And essentially I want to be able to help this community grow in addition to supporting Rhui with their work by working as a community support assistant in addition to this guide.
But here we go, let's get started!

Troubleshooting Forum: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=699
Starting out!
With everything on PC it begins with downloading the file!
Step 1 Browse to here, and download this file (PART A)-> http://syphi.net/lotro/download/2017-10 ... v_2302.zip, it is compressed so go find yourself Winrar to open it (Pay for Winrar, they need it.)
https://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Step 2 The next step is to download this file aswell! (PART B)-> http://syphi.net/lotro/download/pwnageb ... 2_1969.zip
Also compressed so Winrar part 2. (I'm Serious PAY FOR WINRAR)
Step 3 Alright, so you have these two files, what you want to do is open them with Winrar, extract them to your documents folder.
So rather than keeping them in your downloads folder with the rest of your downloads, what you are going to do is extract them to your documents folder.
Step 4 Next step is to open each folder that you just extracted, so PART A and PART B. Once you have both open next to eachother, take the files from PART A, select all of them, so press Shift and Click all files in the folder, then paste them into PART B. You will want to replace the files in the destination with the files from PART A.
Once that is done, delete both the PART A .rar file from your downloads, and the original PART A file that is opened next to PART B. DO NOT DELETE PART B. YOU NEED PART B STILL.
Step 5So now you have the files ready, what you want to do is make sure that all of the files in PART B are not read-only. Which is done through these steps, MAKE SURE TO DO ALL SUBFILES AND FOLDERS ASWELL.

Step 6Next thing you want to do is browse to your Lord of the Rings Online Folder, and set every .exe in the folder to run as an administrator. This is done by following this guide.
http://www.dummies.com/computers/operat ... rmissions/
Under make the change permanent, which requires you to go into properties and change the compatibility settings.
Then you do the same thing for LotroBot in PART B's folder that should still be open!
Step 7So now what? Run the Lotro icon on your desktop, you should get a UAC notification if above windows vista os, and then login to the game, get your character loaded, and start LotroBot in PART B.
Step 8Profit, and later guides will be posted either later today or tomorrow as this is a lot to type in one sitting!
