My map is wrong - can I delete portions of it ?

Hi Rhui,

I have a question that has been bugging me for a bit.

Basically I am in a cave and the mapper drew a connection between 2 points but there is a wall in the game ( in Red in the game ) .

Depending on where I set my grindspot, the bot may choose to go through the path where the wall is. I know there seems to be some edit function in the mapper but I have never managed to make it work ( neither adding a new connection or removing one ).

Can we remove the connection between 2 grind spots and if yes, how to do it effectively ?

Is there a way to edit the map file itself ?

So it actually works. You need to select the dotted circle which enables selection of nodes, then click on the black dented wheel which processes the map without the new nodes.

My issue, however, is that it fails to save the map. It creates a temp map but fails to override so everytime I relog in , the map is as good as old again.

Note that I tried with a fresh map by creating a few portions and deleted them after, and there it works perfectly. Maybe the map size (45MB) ?

Damn, you should really make smaller maps and rename them for the use you want them for like:

Ered_Luin.XML
Shire.XML
Breeland.XML

and if you want to use one of These rename it to lotro_map.XML



From which dungeon is the map of your Picture above?

Name and map would be great

Do you mean manually have small maps and rename them as you go along ? that seems unpractical

+ this way you can travel from the shire to [*]Rivendell - or Galtrev and thats pretty cool.

Thats very kind - so i guess that would solve this issue -

do you think you could share that standalone editor in case there are ( and I know there are ) other sections I would want to modify ?

The problem also , is that I can't seem to be saving new maps -
I mean I could try to remap all from scratch but that would take a while

You can delete the map connectors by editing the map file manually as well. Not fun to do for large edits, but for edits such as one node connecting to the wrong node, pretty easy.
