HELP!
Hey everyone. Just started using bots and such. Completely new to me. I tried reading the guide, but not sure I understand it. I would really like to use this, but I'm not to sure how to. Really the only thing I'm having trouble with though is getting the character to move and kill stuff. I don't know how to set locations or anything like that. It starts with champion and hunter as the classes and I don't mind having them as my class, I just need to know who to work this thing! Please help! Thanks!
Re: HELP!
There is the option for other classes. Best place to start for other classes is the specific forums for them (under the Classes XML forum). Copy them into the pwnagebot\classes folder.
Anyway,
1. create a profile
2. select the class.
3. goto the grind tab, set the Mapper Active tick box.
4. run to an area you want to map (or horse, just not swift travel).
5. Put a name in the Location Sets box.
6. make sure the Loc Lvl boxes are set for below and above your level. Generally this will be set to the level of the area.
7. click on the Add button under the Location Set.
8. make sure the location set you just created is selected. click on the add button under the grind spots
9. run around your grind loop ,periodically clicking on the add button under the grind spots.
10. click on Save Map Data button.
11. untick the Mapper Active.
12. goto skills tab.
13. select the skills appropriate to your char/level.
14. goto grind tab. Click start.
If you get any errors at this point, the message will usually point you to the problem. If you cant work it out, go to the Config tab, down the bottom select the DEBUG option. try step 14 again. post the results of the debug log.

Re: HELP!
Thanks so much! However now I've run into a new problem. When I start up the bot after I'm already logged in it gives me an error message and closes the program completely. I tried uninstalling it and then re-installing it and that didn't seem to work either. How can I get it to start up again and let me access it.
Edit:The program stops working and states that a problem as made the program unable to run.

Re: HELP!
I had the same problem.
First you need to have .net framework 3.5, do not uninstal 1.1v as they say on microsoft webpage, that's bullshit.
When you'll have it and it won't solve the problem try, when start lotro and logg on char, waiting a while before starting the bot.

Re: HELP!
yup, .NET framework 4 includes previous releases (of which the important ones are v1.1, v2.0, v3.5, v4.0).
make sure you are up to date on all the service packs and hotfixes.
also, make sure to run both LOTRO and pwnagebot as admin, otherwise the injection does not work.
i.e. right click icons, select Run As Administrator.
you need to do this each time they run, or you need to set the properties of the shortcut to do this, and it will annoy you with a UAC message every time too. Cant stop this.
it would also be helpful to check to make sure you have the classes.xsd file in the classes subfolder, and the lotro_map.xsd in the lotro\mapdata subolder.
unfortunately there is a lot going on in the login which is happening in multiple threads and the initial start hangs are the result of one of the threads from crashing, but there is not much logging going on. that said, post up the crash details if it still occurs, and the last few entries from the inject_log.txt in the pwnagebot folder.

Ahaa! I was no running it as admin! I'll try that as soon as I can!
Edit: I tried it, still getting the same error.

Re: HELP!
you need both LOTRO and pwnage to run as admin, otherwise the sandboxing in Windows gets in the way (well unless you run under XP 32 bit I suppose)
anyway, where are the logs? without further info from your end, I can only repeat the same stuff.

Re: HELP!
How can I view the logs?
Edit: Ok so I read around the forums a bit and figured out HOW to view the logs. Problem is, the bot was never able to start up, so there are no logs. I'm going to try and go more in depth with my problem.
I have Windows 7 btw.
After I start up lotro as admin I log into my character. I then wait 2-5 minutes before starting up the BOT. After I start up the bot I log in with BOT/BOT. is then says
Built 2011/10/07 19:48:36 from Rev 134 has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
So after that happened I troubleshot the program. After troubleshooting It said that the program would best be used with "Windows XP (Service Pack 2) so I tried running it with that...same problem with that as well. Not sure what the problem is or what I'm doing wrong.

Re: HELP!
There is a good chance you are not doing anything wrong. There may be an issue in the application, or there may be some other factor which we dont know about.
You mentioned that you're running LOTRO as admin. Are you running pwnagebot as admin too?.
You may have other software which is preventing pwnage from starting the appropriate threads, or those threads from contacting the servers.
Do you have a firewall such as Zonealarm, or the Symantec Internet Security?, if so, make sure that pwnage has the rules to allow it to connect out.
Perhaps you are running behind a proxy, if so don't.
Can you monitor the TCP connections (TCPView from Sysinternals is good for this), if so, you should be able to see if pwnage is getting to the point of trying to connect out, and whether it is successful. Let us know the results.
I can't really offer too much other than that at this time. If the above does work and you know how to take a crash dump, then do so, and, and I'll see if I can get ahold of the necessary files in order to try and trace it.
