website and bot down a lot

Post by rassilon » Thu Aug 12, 2010 6:21 am

Is the domain getting a DoS attack or something? The website seems to be down a lot, which causes the bot to be down as well.

I think my shared host just sucks. They were supposed to upgrade the hardware about a month ago, which seemed to help briefly. I'm not really sure why I stick with them for web hosting (cheap I guess). If I was more actively doing this I probably would switch or host it myself.

Is there anything we can do to help keep this site up? (other than buy you a server, LOL) Also, FYI, Lotro will go free to play on September 10th for all people, but they will have the update on September 7th, and the VIP's get to do F2P on September 8th. You mentioned that you don't play anymore, I can give you a current VIP account that will go to a premium account in like 30 days, if you needed it to do the offsets since they also just stopped the free trial accounts as of August 17th.

I just go through periods of disinterest. Pretty addicted to SC2 right now. I have a couple accounts, I just disabled their monthly subs when I'm not really using them. If the game is f2p, I should be able to create free accounts to update the offsets anyways.

Hi Myst,
do you foresee any major disruption in BOT availability or workability when LOTRO goes f2p, or will it be a smooth "transition"?

Best,
D.

I doubt there will be major client updates to support this, sounds more like a billing change, so shouldn't be a huge issue.
