Pwnagebot won't load string data?

Every time I load up pwnagebot it says in the message logs 'failed to load string data, using empty strings', then there are no locations for me to add, or grind spots, or any data at all beyond classes and skills. Not sure what to do, any help would be perfect

Thanks in advance :D

I'm getting the same error and have the same problems. I can provide a log file if needed.

i have the same missing strings issue but i can use the bot. i use pre-made grind files from this forum (with some additionnal mapping and waypoints made by me). i have no trouble adding and saving.
Are you sure you launch the bot in admin mode and Lotro client in admin mode with english language ?

EDIT: in case, i gave you a link with the files i use, some grind spots still need some tweaking especially if you want to optimize the bot for harvesting purpose.

Thanks Slipsoad for the files.

To be clear, the bot does run (but not just now due to offsets), but shows the string error and adding a POI is hit and miss. I tried to setup a sequence of POI for an exploration deed so that I could run my toons through the sequence and earn some TP, but after 5 or 6 entries, it would not add any more.

i've never used the POI settings (i like to do these deeds by myself, you know exploring, be amazed by the landscape etc) so i can't help help you with this issue.

But for grinding/harvesting waypoints, with a good mapping first, i've managed to put as much as 12 waypoints with no pb.
Once again sorry for my english ... not my native language !

I can't even kill something using the bot. I dl your grind file and installed it, but my toon just stands there and does nothing if I start the bot.
The message is: waiting.... For what I wonder...

just open the map in the debug tab to see the nav mapping and where to go.... if its waiting, its waiting for pathfindig.

just untick everything in grind options BUT the one you want to use.

and i forgot : try to use your brain for a change :)

As it happens, brains are smack in the middle of my profession, and I know how to use them.
I also know that teaching is a profession; a very serious one. People, especially in the technical branch, are often unaware of how their knowledge leans on a thorough knowledge of the basics of their profession. that's why other people (less informed in a certain field), seem rather stupid to them. That's o.c. a big mistake, and one that is rigorously carved away when you take a course on how to inform other people.

Now that we've all established that we are all smart people....

When troubleshooting, the immediate response is only going to be as informative as the problem description.

Did you try the setup guide on this site? What class are you using?, what profile are you using? What level are you? Trait tree?

How is the program behaviour differing from your expected behaviour? What are you basing that expectation on? Have you used the bot before and are just now trying his files? Are you new to both?

etc, etc.

As much as you see value in others being considerate of your perspective, please consider theirs.

Shameless....

So everyone who actually reads these things will get the answer they are looking for..

The strings error means that the bot has failed to load it's string database, which is a translation between the internal GUID's used in LOTRO to define everything, and a nice name that people can read. e.g. 0x030600027ac1a51e = Blighted Mountain Bear.

If the bot cannot load your strings file, it does not matter, it means it will attempt to rebuild it, but the first time it encounters a "new" item/mob/thing, it may not know what to call it.

A failure to load the strings file does not mean that you cannot add locations/grind spots or other things to the config. You can. You still have to. The bot is not supplied with any of this info.

If you find you get this message and you already have created the pathing/grindspots/locations etc, and it fails to also load these other things you have created, then chances are the map file is corrupt. If you can supply a copy of the map file, then we can look into what goes wrong with them and try to build an auto fix process.

Oh... and try not to go off topic for a particular post. You can make new ones to abuse each other in.

(bad english sorry, not my first language)
sorry for my bad mood in my previous posts. i apologise. i've read almost every topic on this forum on how to use this program. i've never asked any question about "how to" "not working" etc ...
i'm not a genius, i have just searched the answers to my questions in this forum and learned. Everything is here ...

So people, the search option is here here for a reason.
