Hi. Was wondering if anyone has experienced this.

1) I downloaded the bot and started the game
2) Then I loaded the lotrobot.exe file
3) After inputting my login/password the program automatically crashes and gets the "XXXX has stopped working" message.

The Problem Event Name is CLR20r3.

Anyone might know why?

Try copying "lotro_map.xml' in the mapdata folder to a backup location. Then, delete the xml file in the original location and try again.

I ran into a similar problem that occurred from corrupt map data after I didn't read the beginner's instructions and fired up pwnagebot before I logged in to my character.

Not saying you didn't read the instructions, but saying that I didn't.

you must load LOTRO, and you character, prior to starting the bot program. always. no exceptions.

I've always started the game before the bot file (per my original post) Anyone has any ideas?

Did you try clearing your map data yet? That has fixed any crash problems I've had since I got this program a few days ago.

exclude both executables (lotroclient.exe and lotrobot.exe) from your antivirus/antispyware.

make sure that lotrobot is installed in My Documents\pwnagebot (okay this is becoming less necessary as various things get fixed, but worth a shot).

Unfortunately the error output is a very generic .NET error so it is difficult to provide many ideas on the little info there is.

Did you download the game via Steam/Happy Cloud (play as you download)?

So, I was sitting around bored and did some Google searching for this error. As Bob has stated, this is a very generic .Net error message; and according to most of the Google hits usually this means a certain .Net package is not installed, your PATH environment variable is hosed, or a dll is missing on your system.

If you go to the link below and follow the instructions, you can determine your installed versions of .NET framework. That's probably a good start.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318785

I have these versions and mine works fine:
v2.0.50727
v3.0
v3.5
v4
v4.0

The version of .NET may depend on your OS too. Below are what various OS's come with by default. So chances are if you probably have it already

XP = Nothing.

Image

Windows 8 = .NET 4.5 Installed by default. .NET3.5SP1, .NET 3.0 SP2, .NET 2.0SP2 - optional via Add/Remove programs.

For those that like the textual version of information you can read here

I had this issue and this procedure fixed it though i lost my grind maps. No nodes show in map and insufficient pathing data

Expected?

If you move your map file out of the directory, then yup, you map nodes will disappear.
