Does the new launcher suck for everyone or is it just me?

Or is it just a bad day because of the patch? Seems to take forever to launch to the game now, times out during the process, etc.
Also, in-game is very, very laggy now; haven't played in forever but don't think I could actually play the way it's working now...

sucks for most it seems.
takes several tries for a socket to establish to turbine, and then the traffic on it is real slow.
initialisation phase is pathectically slow, but this seems to be caused by the painful sockets - presumably the server is bogged down. So bogged that it drops connection.
I dunno why instead of moving to C++ they didn't just update the prior one to not use .NET 1.1, i.e update to .NET 2.0 or something useful.

The new launcher has a very strong unfinished feeling. Looks more like an early beta. They can't have tested it much on XP, it really looked horrible while updating on my old XP machine.
As for not going up to .net 2.0 I would guess they might be looking at cross platform compatibility.
I've not looked around much in the install folder lately but isn't all the Qt dlls new with this release? And Qt is a rather strong option if your looking to target multiple platforms. While .net isn't...
